We have been exclusively engaged by a century-old organization to find a Senior Sales Agronomist who desires a position with a consultative approach. You will maintain a defined customer-base around Lloydminster; providing value and unique solutions to your farm customers. In this senior role, your customer base will encompass the largest customers within the geography.

Essential Functions include:
  • Utilize a consultative sales approach with your selected farm customers
  • Proactively seek to become a key part of your client's business decision-making process
  • Maintain a weekly call plan to make yourself available to your clients; utilizing face-to-face visits and phone calls
  • Include essential information within the customer management database to ensure knowledgeable recommendations
  • Using effective questioning and listening skills; create unique customer solutions and finalize sales
  • Provide timely service, agronomic information, and advice; bringing in support as required to benefit the customer
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met with regards to the movement of farm supplies and paperwork
  • Ensure accounts meet credit policy
  • Represent the company at area promotional activities
  • Work closely as a team to exceed customer service expectations for each customer
  • Participate in regular training to maintain product and technical knowledge

To be considered, you offer:
  • Successful completion of a Certificate in Agriculture, Agri-Business Certificate, or equivalent post-secondary education
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) preferred
  • P.Ag designation an asset
  • Sales and negotiation skills
  • Ability to influence and persuade
  • Intermediate level MS Office skills
  • Ability to use logic to make conclusions regarding alternative solutions and approaches to a problem
  • Ability to build and foster effective business relationships internally and externally
  • Ability to formulate and deliver ideas and material in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing
  • Willing and able to work occasional weekend, evening, and/or overnight travel
  • A valid class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel locally to current and potential clients
  • Canadian Social Insurance Number (SIN)

Key performance measurements will be determined with regular review and evaluation.
