Based in Carberry, our client has specialized in grain and potato production since 1965

Your day will look like this

·        Responsible for upholding a safe and organized shop environment

·        Troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures

·        upholding preventative maintenance schedules and maintaining the part procurement and inventory records.

Qualifications

  • 5 years’ experience with large equipment maintenance. Agriculture equipment experience preferred.
  • Formal equipment maintenance training or certifications preferred.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a diverse set of equipment running safely, efficiently and reliable
  • Potato trucks, semi-trucks, trailers, pickups, large tractors, potato storage, potato harvest
  • Purchase parts for equipment and shop
  • Have a knowledge of parts purchasing and cost-effectiveness
  • Parts supplier relationships
  • Ensure flow of equipment maintenance activity through the shop and communicating plan to management
  • Preventative maintenances are kept up, emergency fixes completed on time
  • Handle calls for equipment failures

Skills / Competencies

  • Excellent problem solving and diagnosing ability
  • Electrical knowledge and problem-solving ability, especially with 480/3 phase power
  • Strong employee relations skills
  • Ability to lead a group of individuals with varying skill level to get the best production from the team
  • Basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, web navigation
