As a result of continued growth, our client seeks an expert to assume management responsibility for their canola seed product line and associated team representatives!

Reporting to the Director of Commercial Seed, in this key position, you will lead all aspects of the product portfolio – working with your team to increase sales, profitability, market share, and brand recognition!

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage all aspects of proprietary and third-party canola portfolio including product lifecycle management and product allocation by region/district
  • Develop and implement the canola seed marketing plan(s), resulting in increased sales volumes
  • Regularly monitor market conditions and competitor activity and advise on product positioning, local pricing, short- and long-term marketing and business plans, forecasting, future market demand, sales projections, pricing and profit margins, and report market information and identify opportunities to head office
  • Recognize the impact the canola product portfolio has on the entire pipeline sales, marketing, and margin opportunity
  • Create an environment that fosters teamwork and continuous improvement through applicable human resource management activities.
  • Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets
  • Build and maintain quality working relationships with supplier contacts, industry and government organizations, and internal departments

Required Skills include:

  • Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Detail orientation
  • Intermediate computer competency

Required Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary degree in Agriculture, Commerce, or Business Administration with an emphasis on marketing
  • 3+ years’ sales and marketing experience
  • Knowledge of canola
