Feed Sales Manager

Location: Central Ontario



Our client is a well capitalized, full spectrum ag supply company located in Central Ontario, just east of the GTA and on the doorstep of Ontario’s Kawartha Lakes playground. They seek an experienced Feed Sales Manager to provide leadership to their team of Livestock Feed Account Sales Representatives and to be responsible for execution of all feed related sales and marketing programs in support of volume and profitability.


Under the direction of the General Manager, this senior management role is responsible for the sales of all feed products directly to producers within the sales territory in order to achieve annual budget. To this end, this role must provide leadership to ensure regular customer contact, by developing strong relationships and providing technical expertise.





  • Manage feed sales representatives. Ensure that livestock and/or poultry producers are being called on in order to promote and sell manufactured feed in accordance with sales budget. Coordinate technical expertise provided to customers.
  • Manage training initiatives and producer meetings/events. Coordinate with retail employees to provide customers with nutrition advice and technical training to increase value to customers.
  • Manage all external feed supplier relationships.
  • Manage the feed mill operations.
  • Train, mentor, and share knowledge/technical expertise on nutrition.
  • Oversee the CRM database to make sure all relevant information from sales calls are reported in a timely manner and shared with sales manager as well as plant manager.
  • Oversee ongoing coordination with sales/marketing/agronomists/feed plant production/retail/ and producers in order to respond and/or resolve inquiries regarding animal equipment, products, pricing, etc.
  • Build relationships with key producer groups and industry organizations.
  • Provide input on annual budget and business plans related to feed sales.



Your qualifications will include a post secondary diploma or degree in agriculture/business (MBA looked upon favourably but not a requirement), 5+ years of ag/feed sales and 5+ years experience in a leadership or management capacity, proven knowledge and understanding of the ag industry including all main production livestock groups, professional communication, interpersonal, persuasion and presentation skills, and demonstrated leadership skills including imparting vision, supervision, employee development and teambuilding.
